The Zincrometer by Dr. Hulda Clark is a portable detection instrument that is based upon the principles of frequency resonance and energy medicine. A test sample is placed upon the test plate. This could be anything from a vitamin, mineral, food, allergen, etc. The subject holds the black carbon electrode in the hand, while a technician applies the tip of the sensor probe to particular points on the subject's fingernail bed according to the principles of EDS (electro-dermal screening). This operates on the same basis as a number of more sophisticated and expensive instruments, such as Voll Meters, Bicom, QXCI, etc.

An important difference is that many of these other instruments are computerized with "virtual trays" of hundreds of test substances that can be checked quite rapidly in larger groups. With the Zincrometer, one must challenge the body with each test item. Although this can still be very accurate, it does require more time when one is trying to do a lot of basic detective work.

Following the detection sequence, one can place potential remedies, such as homeopathic remedies, nosodes, vitamins, minerals, or other supplements onto the test tray in order to test for energetic balancing effects. As in the detection procedure, the subject will grasp the black electrode while the technician applies the sensor probe onto the various points of the hand.

The Zincrometer relays the relative state of energetic balance or imbalance by means of an audible tone that is broadcast through a built-in speaker. Test items that produce a negative reaction will result in a particular tone and remedies that may have a positive or balancing effect will produce a different type of tone.

A person's success in operating the Zincrometer will depend upon an understanding of the basic principles of electro-dermal screening, as well as a fair amount of practice and experience in interpreting the various sound signals from the instrument.
