BT-7
Usage Tips
Dr. Bob Beck developed the original BT-5 Brain Tuner in 1983. This unit had one pulse output setting of 1,000 Hz., modulated at 111Hz. (plus hundreds of frequency harmonics). In 1989, Dr. Beck introduced the BT-6 model with the additional 7.83Hz. Schumann Resonance (Earth Resonance Frequency) and a 0.5 Hz., ON/OFF cycle. This represents our current model BT-7 as well.
When choosing a setting, it is important to note that due to the internal programming of the BT-7 ALL of the settings start with the 1,000.00 Hz. frequency which is modulated or interrupted by the 111Hz. Pulse repetition rate, (along with the hundreds of frequency harmonics). So, all six settings share this feature in common. Settings number 2 and 3 as well as number 5 and 6 add an extra element of Voltage Modulation over the basic output. In other words, the voltage is "pumped Up and Down" at the 0.5 rate or the 7.83 rate. The body is very sensitive to many types of rhythms and pulsations, so the voltage modulations of 0.5 and 7.83 add an extra dimension of relaxation signals to the body.
Feel free to experiment with the various settings and note which one feels the most relaxing or energizing (depending upon your personal goals). You are always receiving the basic frequency harmonics, regardless of the setting.
What Time of Day to Use BT-7 -
BT-7 may be used any time of day. However, some individuals using BT-7 near their normal bed time, may find that it gives them extra energy and they are not tired. In this case, try using the unit earlier in the day. It is important to use the BT-7
each day for 2 to 3 weeks in order to achieve the maximum benefits.
There is no need to repeat the entire 2 to 3 weeks if you happen to skip
a day or two. Following the initial series of sessions, BT-7 may
be used on occasion as desired to maintain the initial improvements.
For example, memory improvements may last up to 1 year before additional
sessions are necessary. Other gains may be more temporary and require
more frequent reinforcement. Individual results will vary.
Possible Side Effects
Vivid Dreaming - over the years, we have observed that some individuals experience very vivid dreams during the first week or two of using the BT-7. This is not permanent and normally does not last more than a few weeks.
Headache - a very small number of individuals may experience a mild, temporary headache the first few sessions. Note: It is not at all clear if the BT-7 actually causes headaches. In one double-blind placebo test, approx. 2 percent of patients receiving a sham therapy with NO battery in the instrument, reported headache, which was the same percentage as the the live battery group. Our actual experience since 1983 indicates that individuals may report headache relief co-incident with using the BT-7. That is not to say the BT-7 resolves headache, only that there seems to be a correlation.
Earclip Sensitivity - some individuals may be very sensitive to the electrical stimulus of the earclips on the earlobes. Start out with the intensity dial at a low level the first few days. There is no need to "crank up" the intensity levels in order to achieve beneficial results. It is very normal for the body to adapt or accommodate to the stimulation. After a few minutes, you may not feel the electrical stimulation on the skin. If the intensity dial is turned up, then you will feel the stimulation once again. It is not necessary to continually increase the stimulation levels throughout the session.
BT-7 Six
selectable output settings:
Note that settings 1, 2, 3, have a pulse duration of 550 microseconds and settings 4, 5, and 6 have a pulse duration of 220 microseconds. This represents the active ON time of the pulse groupings. We do not have any published research that would support the use of one pulse width setting over the other.
(1) 111.11 Hz - this was the setting for the original BT-5 Brain Tuner from 1983. It includes hundreds of harmonics. Many users find this setting to be more energizing.
(2) 1 sec. ON / 1 sec.
OFF - this 0.5Hz. voltage modulation corresponds to the low Delta brainwave frequency. This frequency, in terms of EEG brainwave, is associated with deep REM sleep.
(3) 7.83 Hz - this was Dr. Beck's favorite - Schumann Resonance frequency (also known as the Earth Resonance Frequency or Earth's Brainwave, due to the resemblance to the human Alpha brainwave pattern. This setting may help to synchronize the energy levels of the left and right brain EEG patterns. As a pioneer of EEG bio-feedback instrumentation, Dr. Beck tested numerous healers, shamans, Hawaiian Kahunas, dowsers, etc. and found that all of them exhibited high levels of brainwave activity in the 7.83Hz. frequency when they were engaged in healing activity.
The 7.83 Alpha frequency is also associated with increased creativity, superlearning, memory improvement, intuitive insights and more.
